The following was a Doctor's Guide web site CME course on 8/7/01.  It's good for choosing a medication for hypertension.  I'm not a doctor but here's how I see it:  Beta blockers and calcium channel blockers kill your sex life.  ACE inhibitors produce a hacking cough and increase substance P.  Substance P transmits pain and has been associated with depression.  I feel that ARB's are the best choice, if alternative measures don't work.
